Before You Start
Upgrade Impacts
- Do not perform other maintenance operations during the upgrade.
- Services are interrupted during the software upgrade.
- After the software package is upgraded, services are not affected.

- From MindX 2.0.2, the sdk-manager and msInstaller tools are removed from the Toolbox software package. Therefore, after a version earlier than MindX 2.0.2 is upgraded to the current version, the Toolbox installation directory does not contain the sdk-manager and msInstaller tools anymore.
- In MindX 3.0.0 and later versions, the Ascend Docker Runtime tool is officially removed from the Toolbox software package. Therefore, after MindX is upgraded from a version earlier than 3.0.0 to the current version, the Ascend Docker Runtime tool is not contained in the Toolbox installation directory anymore.
- When performing the installation or upgrade, ensure that the owners of the installation logs and installed files are the same as the user who performs the installation or upgrade. If they are inconsistent, the installation or upgrade will fail. In this case, change the owner of the installation logs, or uninstall the Toolbox and then re-install it.
Verifying the Digital Signatures of Software Packages
To prevent a software package from being maliciously tampered with during transfer or storage, download also the corresponding digital signature file for integrity verification while downloading the software package.
After the software package is downloaded from the Huawei Support website, verify its PGP digital signature. See OpenPGP Signature Verification Guide. If the verification fails, do not use the software package, and contact Huawei technical support engineers.
Before a software package is used in installation or update, its digital signature also needs to be verified according to OpenPGP Signature Verification Guide to ensure that the software package is not tampered with.
