Function

  • Description: Returns the matrix norm or vector norm of a given tensor.

  • Formula: Supports 1/2 norm, infinity norm, and other norm calculations where p is of float type.

    • p = 1 norm:

      ∥x∥=∑i=1N∣xi∣\Vert x \Vert = \sum_{i=1}^{N}{\vert x_i \vert}
    • p = 2 norm (default value):

      ∥x∥2=(∑i=1N∣xi∣2)12\Vert x \Vert_2 = (\sum_{i=1}^{N}{\vert x_i \vert^2})^{\frac{1}{2}}
    • p = infinity norm:

      ∥x∥∞=max⁡i∣xi∣\Vert x \Vert_\infty = \max\limits_{i}{\vert x_i \vert} ∥x∥−∞=min⁡i∣xi∣\Vert x \Vert_{-\infty} = \min\limits_{i}{\vert x_i \vert}
    • p = other norms:

      ∥x∥p=(∑i=1N∣xi∣p)1p\Vert x \Vert_p = (\sum_{i=1}^{N}{\vert x_i \vert^p})^{\frac{1}{p}}

Function Prototype

Each operator is divided into a two-phase API. The "aclnnNormGetWorkspaceSize" API must be called first to obtain the workspace size required for computation and the executor that encapsulates the operator computation flow. Then, the "aclnnNorm" API is called to perform the computation.

aclnnNormGetWorkspaceSize

  • Parameters

    Parameter Input/Output Description Instruction Data Type Data Format Dimension (Shape) Non-contiguous Tensor
    Self (aclTensor*) Input x in the formula. Supports empty tensors. FLOAT32、FLOAT16、BFLOAT16 ND 0-8 √
    pScalar (aclScalar*) Input Indicates the type of norm, i.e., p in the formula. Supports 0/1/2/3 norm and infinity norm. FLOAT32 - - -
    dim (aclIntArray*) Input Dimensions along which to compute the norm of self. Supports [-N, N-1], where N is the dimension of self. Elements in dims must not be duplicated. Negative values are supported. INT64 - - -
    keepdim (bool) Input Determines whether the output tensor retains the axis specified by the dim parameter. - - - - -
    out (aclTensor*) Output out in the formula.
    • If keepdim is true, the shape of all dimensions except the dimension specified by dim (whose size is 1) must be consistent with self.
    • If keepdim is false, the reduced dimension is not retained, and the shapes of the remaining dimensions must be consistent with self.
    FLOAT32, FLOAT16, BFLOAT16 ND 0-8 √
    workspaceSize (uint64_t*) Output Returns the workspace size to be applied for on the Device side. - - - - -
    executor (aclOpExecutor**) Output Returns the op executor, which contains the operator computation flow. - - - - -
  • Return Value

    aclnnStatus: return code. For details, see aclnn Return Code.

    The first-phase API performs input parameter validation and returns an error in the following scenarios:

    Return Code Error Code Description
    ACLNN_ERR_PARAM_NULLPTR 161001 The self, pScalar, dim, or out parameter passed in is a null pointer.
    ACLNN_ERR_PARAM_INVALID 161002 The data format of self is not within the supported range.
    The data types of dim and keepdim do not meet the API input parameter requirements.
    dim exceeds the range of [-N, N-1] (where N is the dimension of self).
    dim contains duplicate values.
    The shape of self or out exceeds 8 dimensions.
    The shape of out is not equal to the shape derived from self, dim, and keepdim.

aclnnNorm

  • Parameters

    Parameter Input/Output Description
    workspace Input Address of the workspace memory applied for on the device side.
    workspaceSize Input Size of the workspace applied for on the device side, obtained by the first-phase API aclnnNormGetWorkspaceSize.
    executor Input Operator executor, which contains the operator computation flow.
    stream Input Specifies the stream for task execution.
  • Return Value

    aclnnStatus: return code. For details, see aclnn Return Code.

Constraints

  • deterministic computation

    • aclnnNorm defaults to a non-deterministic implementation. Deterministic computation can be enabled through aclrtCtxSetSysParamOpt.
