Function
Description: Computes the negative log-likelihood loss.
Formula:
When reduction is none:
where is self, is target, is weight, and is the batch size. If reduction is not 'none', then:
Function Prototype
Each operator is divided into a two-phase API. The "aclnnNLLLoss2dGetWorkspaceSize" API must be called first to obtain the workspace size required for computation and the executor that encapsulates the operator computation flow. Then, the "aclnnNLLLoss2d" API is called to perform the computation.

Parameters
Parameter Input/Output Description Instruction Data Type Data Format Shape Non-contiguous Tensor self (aclTensor*) Input The tensor to be computed. Corresponds to x in the formula, with a 4-dimensional shape where the second dimension is C, representing the number of classes. FLOAT, FLOAT16, BFLOAT16 ND 4 √ target (aclTensor*) Input Represents the ground-truth labels. - y in the formula, with a 3D shape.
- The first dimension of target is equal to the first dimension of self, the second dimension of target is equal to the third dimension of self, and the third dimension of target is equal to the fourth dimension of self.
- The value range of each element is [0, C - 1].
INT64, UINT8, INT32 ND 3 √ weight (aclTensor*) Input Specifies the scaling weight for each class. Corresponds to w in the formula, with a shape of (C,). The data type must be the same as self. ND (C,) √ reduction (int64_t) Input Specifies the reduction to apply to the output. - Supports 0 (none) | 1 (mean) | 2 (sum).
- 'none' indicates no reduction is applied.
- 'mean' indicates the sum of the output will be divided by the number of elements in the output.
- 'sum' indicates the output will be summed.
INT64 - - - ignoreIndex (int64_t) Input Specifies a target value that is ignored and does not affect the input gradient. - INT64 - - - out (aclTensor*) Output The out in the formula. When reduction is 0 (none), the shape is the same as that of target; otherwise, it is (1,). The data type is the same as that of self. ND - - totalWeightOut (aclTensor*) Output totalWeightOut in the formula. The output value is valid when reduction is non-zero (non-none), with a shape of (1,). The data type is the same as self. ND - - workspaceSize (uint64_t*) Output Returns the workspace size to be applied for on the Device side. - - - - - executor (aclOpExecutor**) Output Returns the operator executor, which contains the operator computation process. - - - - - Return Value
aclnnStatus: return code. For details, see aclnn Return Code.
The first-phase API performs input parameter validation and returns an error in the following scenarios:
Return Value Error Code Description ACLNN_ERR_PARAM_NULLPTR 161001 The passed self, target, weight, out, or totalWeightOut is a null pointer. ACLNN_ERR_PARAM_INVALID 161002 The data type or data format of self, target, weight, out, or totalWeightOut is not within the supported range. The data types of self, weight, out, or totalWeightOut are inconsistent. The shapes and formats of self, target, weight, out, or totalWeightOut are incorrect. The reduction value is not within the range of 0 to 2.

Parameters
Parameter Input/Output Description workspace Input Address of the workspace memory applied for on the Device side. workspaceSize Input Size of the workspace applied for on the Device side, obtained from the first-phase API aclnnNLLLoss2dGetWorkspaceSize. executor Input Operator executor, which contains the operator computation flow. stream Input Specifies the stream for task execution. Return Value
aclnnStatus: return code. For details, see aclnn Return Code.
Constraints
Deterministic computation:
- aclnnNLLLoss2d defaults to a non-deterministic implementation. You can enable deterministic computation through aclrtCtxSetSysParamOpt.
