Function
Description:
For the input channel of the input signal, performs 2D (H and W dimensions) max pooling, and outputs the pooled values out and indices.
Description of input dims: N - batch, C - channel, D - depth, W - width, H - height.
Formula:
Formula for each element in the output tensor:
Formula for deriving the shape of the out tensor. The shape of the indices tensor is the same as that of the out tensor:
Function Prototype
Each operator is divided into a two-phase API. You must first call the "aclnnMaxPool2dWithIndicesGetWorkspaceSize" API to obtain the workspace size required for computation and the executor that contains the operator computation process, and then call the "aclnnMaxPool2dWithIndices" API to perform the computation.

Parameters:
Parameter Input/Output Description Instruction Data Type Data Format Dimension (Shape) Non-contiguous Tensor self Input Tensor to be computed. - BFLOAT16, FLOAT16, FLOAT32 NCHW, NHWC, ND 3-4 √ kernelSize Input Window size of max pooling. The length is 1 or 2, and all array elements must be greater than 0. INT64 - - - stride Input Specifies the stride of the sliding window. The array length must be 0, 1, or 2, and all array elements must be greater than 0. When the array length is 0, the kernelSize value is used as strides internally. INT64 - - - padding Input Number of padding layers for each edge, with the padding value set to "negative infinity". The array length must be 1 or 2, and each array element must be greater than or equal to 0 and less than or equal to kernelSize/2. INT64 - - - dilation Input Controls the stride of elements in the window. The array length must be 1 or 2. INT64 - - - ceilMode Input Rounding method used when computing the output shape. If True, rounds up when computing the output shape; if False, rounds down. BOOL - - - out Output Output tensor, which is the result after pooling. The shape is derived from the formula above. BFLOAT16, FLOAT16, FLOAT32 NCHW, NHWC, ND 3-4 √ indices Output Tensor composed of the index positions of the maximum values. The shape is consistent with out. INT32, INT64. NCHW, NHWC, ND 3-4 √ workspaceSize Output Returns the workspace size to be applied for on the Device side. - - - - - executor Output Returns the operator executor, which contains the operator computation flow. - - - - - Atlas A2 training products/Atlas A2 inference products ,Atlas A3 training products/Atlas A3 inference products : NHWC is not supported, and the element values in dilation only support 1.
Return value
aclnnStatus: return code. For details, see aclnn Return Code.
The first-phase API performs input parameter validation and returns an error in the following scenarios:
Return Code Error Code Description ACLNN_ERR_PARAM_NULLPTR 161001 The input self or out is a null pointer. ACLNN_ERR_PARAM_INVALID 161002 The data type of self is not within the supported range. The data format of self is not within the supported range. The shape of self is not 3D or 4D. A dimension of the output shape derived from the formula is 0. The length of kernelSize is not 1 or 2. A value in kernelSize is less than or equal to 0. The length of stride is not 0, 1, or 2. The stride contains values less than or equal to 0. The length of padding is not 1 or 2. The padding contains values less than 0 or greater than kernelSize/2. The length of dilation is not 1 or 2. The elements in dilation do not meet the requirements. A dimension in the output shape derived from the formula is 0. The shape of out or indices is inconsistent with the derived output shape.
aclnnMaxPool2dWithIndices
Parameters:
Parameter Input/Output Description workspace Input Workspace memory address applied for on the Device side. workspaceSize Input Workspace size applied for on the Device side, obtained by the first-phase API aclnnMaxPool2dWithIndicesGetWorkspaceSize. executor Input Operator executor, which contains the operator computation flow. stream Input Specifies the stream on which the task is executed. Return value
aclnnStatus: return code. For details, see aclnn Return Code.
Constraints
Deterministic computation:
- aclnnMaxPool2dWithIndices defaults to a deterministic implementation.
Atlas A2 training products/Atlas A2 inference products ,Atlas A3 training products/Atlas A3 inference products :Input data does not support NaN or -Inf currently.
When ceilMode is True, if the sliding window falls entirely within the right-side padding region, this output result is ignored.
