Function

  • Description: Gaussian Error Linear Unit activation function.

  • Formula:

    yi=GeluV2(xi)=xi×Φ(xi)y_{i}=GeluV2(x_{i})=x_{i}×Φ(x_{i})

Function Prototype

Each operator is divided into a two-phase API. The "aclnnGeluV2GetWorkspaceSize" API must be called first to obtain the workspace size required for computation and the executor that encapsulates the operator computation flow. Then, the "aclnnGeluV2" API is called to perform the computation.

aclnnGeluV2GetWorkspaceSize

  • Parameters:

Parameter Input/Output Description Instruction Data Type Data Format Dimension (Shape) Non-Contiguous Tensor
x (aclTensor*) Input Indicates the input of the GELU activation function, which is self in the formula.
    • The data type must be consistent with y.

approximate (int64_t) Attribute Indicates the algorithm for GELU approximate computation. Optional parameter. The value can be 0 or 1, and the default value is 0 (0: none, 1: tanh). INT - - -
y (aclTensor*) Output Indicates the output of the GELU activation function.
    • The data type must be consistent with x.
    • The shape must be consistent with x.
    FLOAT32, FLOAT16, BFLOAT16 ND 0-8 √
workspaceSize (uint64_t*) Output Returns the workspace size to be applied for on the Device side. - - - - -
executor (aclOpExecutor**) Output Returns the op executor, which contains the operator computation flow. - - - - -
    • Atlas training products, Atlas 200I/500 A2 inference products, and Atlas inference products: FLOAT32 and FLOAT16 are supported.
  • Return value

aclnnStatus: return code. For details, see aclnn Return Code.

The first-phase API performs input parameter validation and returns an error in the following scenarios:

    Return Code Error Code Description
    ACLNN_ERR_PARAM_NULLPTR 161001 The input x or y is a null pointer.
ACLNN_ERR_PARAM_INVALID 161002 The data type or data format of x and y is not within the supported range.
The data types of x and y are inconsistent.
The shapes of x and y are inconsistent.

  • Parameters:

    Parameter Input/Output Description
workspace Input Specifies the workspace memory address applied on the Device side.
workspaceSize Input Specifies the workspace size applied on the Device side, obtained from the first-phase API aclnnGeluV2GetWorkspaceSize.
executor Input Operator executor that contains the operator computation flow.
stream Input Specifies the stream for task execution.
  • Return value

aclnnStatus: return code. For details, see aclnn Return Code.

Constraints

  • Deterministic computation:

    • aclnnGeluV2 defaults to a deterministic implementation.
