MindStudio Update

Manually Update

You are advised to update MindStudio to the latest version to experience the latest features and enhancements.

MindStudio is green software. To update MindStudio, uninstall it by referring to Uninstallation (Linux) or Uninstallation (Windows), and then install the latest version by referring to the MindStudio Installation Guide.

MindStudio Update in the IDE

1. On the MindStudio home page, choose Help > Check for Updates... on the menu bar. An update message is displayed in the lower right corner of the page, as shown in Figure 1.

   If the message "No IDE or plugin updates available" is displayed in the lower right corner of the page, MindStudio is of the latest version.

2. Click Update... in the displayed information.
3. The update page (Figure 2 or Figure 3) is displayed, showing the information about the latest MindStudio version. Upgrade MindStudio as prompted.

   • The update page shown in Figure 2 is displayed. Click Download to go to the page for obtaining the latest MindStudio software package and download the latest software package. Then, uninstall MindStudio by referring to Uninstallation (Linux) or Uninstallation (Windows) and install the latest MindStudio version. For details, see the MindStudio installation guide of the latest version.

     • Ignore This Update: Ignore the update and exit the update page.
     • Remind Me Later: Remind you to update later.
     • Download: Go to the page for obtaining the latest MindStudio software package.
   • If the update page shown in Figure 3 is displayed, perform 4 and 5.

     • Ignore This Update: Ignore the update and exit the update page.
     • Remind Me Later: Remind you to update MindStudio later.
     • Update and Restart: Update and restart MindStudio.
4. Click Update and Restart to update and restart MindStudio.
   • After the upgrade package is downloaded and verified, the following information is displayed, as shown in Figure 4. Click Restart to restart MindStudio and go to 5.

   • If a message indicating an upgrade package error is displayed after the upgrade package is downloaded, as shown in Figure 5, you are advised to click Open download page to go to the MindStudio software download page, obtain the latest software package, and manually upgrade the IDE.

5. After the patch file is downloaded, update MindStudio, as shown in Figure 6.

   During the update, you will be prompted to modify some executable files and configuration information of MindStudio due to version inconsistency. Figure 7 shows an example of the prompt message.

   • Cancel: Cancel the MindStudio update and wait for MindStudio of the current version to automatically restart.
   • Proceed: Proceed to update MindStudio. After the update is complete, MindStudio of the new version automatically restarts.

After MindStudio is upgraded, update CANN to the matching version.
