Function

  • Description: Calculates the square root of a non-negative number. For a negative number, nan is returned.
  • Formula:
out=sqrt(self)={self,self≥0,nan,self<0out=sqrt(self)=\begin{cases} \sqrt {self}, & self\ge 0 , \\ nan, & self\lt 0 \end{cases}

Prototype

  • aclnnSqrt and aclnnInplaceSqrt implement the same function in different ways. Select a proper operator based on your requirements.

    • aclnnSqrt: An output tensor object needs to be created to store the computation result.
    • aclnnInplaceSqrt: No output tensor object needs to be created, and the computation result is stored in the memory of the input tensor.
  • Each operator has two-phase API calls. First, aclnnSqrtGetWorkspaceSize or aclnnInplaceSqrtGetWorkspaceSize is called to obtain input parameters and compute the required workspace size based on the computation process. Then, aclnnSqrt or aclnnInplaceSqrt is called to perform computation.

    • aclnnStatus aclnnSqrtGetWorkspaceSize(const aclTensor* self, aclTensor* out, uint64_t* workspaceSize, aclOpExecutor** opExecutor)
    • aclnnStatus aclnnSqrt(void *workspace, uint64_t workspaceSize, aclOpExecutor *opExecutor, aclrtStream stream)
    • aclnnStatus aclnnInplaceSqrtGetWorkspaceSize(aclTensor* self, uint64_t* workspaceSize, aclOpExecutor** executor)
    • aclnnStatus aclnnInplaceSqrt(void *workspace, uint64_t workspaceSize, aclOpExecutor *executor, aclrtStream stream)

aclnnSqrtGetWorkspaceSize

  • Parameters

    • self (aclTensor*, computation input): input self in the formula, which is an aclTensor on the device. Non-contiguous tensors are supported. The data format can be ND. The data dimensions cannot be greater than 8.
      • Atlas training products: The data type can be COMPLEX64, COMPLEX128, FLOAT, FLOAT16, DOUBLE, INT32, INT64, INT16, INT8, UINT8, or BOOL.
      • Atlas A2 training products/Atlas A2 inference products and Atlas A3 training products/Atlas A3 inference products: The data type can be COMPLEX64, COMPLEX128, FLOAT, FLOAT16, BFLOAT16, DOUBLE, INT32, INT64, INT16, INT8, UINT8, or BOOL.
    • out (aclTensor*, computation output): input out in the formula, which is an aclTensor on the device. If the input is a complex number, the output must be a complex number. Non-contiguous tensors are supported. The shape must be the same as that of self. The data format can be ND. The data dimensions cannot be greater than 8.
      • Atlas training products: The data type can be FLOAT, FLOAT16, DOUBLE, COMPLEX64, or COMPLEX128.
      • Atlas A2 training products/Atlas A2 inference products and Atlas A3 training products/Atlas A3 inference products: The data type can be FLOAT, FLOAT16, DOUBLE, COMPLEX64, COMPLEX128, or BFLOAT16.
    • workspaceSize (uint64_t*, output): size of the workspace to be allocated on the device.
    • opExecutor (aclOpExecutor**, output): operator executor, containing the operator computation process.
  • Returns:

aclnnStatus: status code. For details, see aclnn Return Codes.

The first-phase API implements input parameter verification. The following errors may be thrown.
161001 (ACLNN_ERR_PARAM_NULLPTR): 1. The passed self or out is a null pointer.
161002 (ACLNN_ERR_PARAM_INVALID): 1. The data type, data format, and shape of self and out are not supported.
                                       2. The shapes of self and out do not match.

    • opExecutor (aclOpExecutor*, input): operator executor, containing the operator computation process.
    • stream (aclrtStream, input): stream for executing the task.
  • Returns:

    • executor (aclOpExecutor**, output): operator executor, containing the operator computation process.
  • Returns:

aclnnStatus: status code. For details, see aclnn Return Codes.

The first-phase API implements input parameter verification. The following errors may be thrown.
161001 (ACLNN_ERR_PARAM_NULLPTR): 1. The passed selfRef is a null pointer.
161002 (ACLNN_ERR_PARAM_INVALID): 1. The data type of selfRef is not supported.

  • Parameters

    • workspace (void*, input): address of the workspace to be allocated on the device.
    • workspaceSize (uint64_t, input): size of the workspace to be allocated on the device, which is obtained by calling the first-phase API aclnnInplaceSqrtGetWorkspaceSize.
    • executor (aclOpExecutor*, input): operator executor, containing the operator computation process.
    • stream (aclrtStream, input): stream for executing the task.
  • Returns:

aclnnStatus: status code. For details, see aclnn Return Codes.

Constraints

  • Deterministic compute:
    • aclnnSqrt&aclnnInplaceSqrt defaults to a deterministic implementation.
