Function

  • Description: Returns a new tensor where each element is the exponential of the corresponding element in the input.
  • Formula:
outi=eselfiout_{i} = e^{self_{i}}

Prototype

  • aclnnExp and aclnnInplaceExp implement the same function in different ways. Select a proper operator based on your requirements.
    • aclnnExp: An output tensor object needs to be created to store the computation result.
    • aclnnInplaceExp: No output tensor object needs to be created, and the computation result is stored in the memory of the input tensor.
  • Each operator has two-phase API calls. First, aclnnExpGetWorkspaceSize or aclnnInplaceExpGetWorkspaceSize is called to obtain input parameters and calculate the required workspace size based on the computation process. Then, aclnnExp or aclnnInplaceExp is called to perform computation.
aclnnStatus aclnnExpGetWorkspaceSize(
  const aclTensor *self,
  aclTensor *out,
  uint64_t *workspaceSize,
  aclOpExecutor **executor)
aclnnStatus aclnnExp(
  void *workspace,
  uint64_t workspaceSize,
  aclOpExecutor *executor,
  aclrtStream stream)
aclnnStatus aclnnInplaceExpGetWorkspaceSize(
  aclTensor *selfRef,
  uint64_t *workspaceSize,
  aclOpExecutor **executor)
aclnnStatus aclnnInplaceExp(
  void *workspace,
  uint64_t workspaceSize,
  aclOpExecutor *executor,
  aclrtStream stream)

aclnnExpGetWorkspaceSize

  • Parameters:

Name Input/Output Description Usage Notes Data Type Data Format Dimension (Shape) Non-contiguous Tensor
    self Input Input tensor. - FLOAT, FLOAT16, DOUBLE, COMPLEX64, COMPLEX128, BOOL, INT64, BFLOAT16 ND Maximum 8D √
    out Output Output tensor.
    • The data type must be convertible from that of self.
    • If self is of type BOOL or INT64, out must be a floating-point type.
    • Its shape must match that of self.
    FLOAT, FLOAT16, DOUBLE, COMPLEX64, COMPLEX128, BFLOAT16 ND Maximum 8D √
workspaceSize Output Size of the workspace required to be allocated on the device. - - - - -
executor Output Operator executor, containing the operator computation process. - - - - -
    • Atlas training products and Atlas inference products: The BFLOAT16 data type is not supported.
  • Returns:

aclnnStatus: status code. For details, see aclnn Return Codes.

The first-phase API performs input parameter validation. The following errors may be returned:

    Return Error Code Description
ACLNN_ERR_PARAM_NULLPTR 161001 self or out is a null pointer.
ACLNN_ERR_PARAM_INVALID 161002 The data type of self is not supported.
The data type of out cannot be converted from that of self.
The shapes of self and out are inconsistent.
The shape of self or out is greater than 8D.

Constraints

  • Deterministic computation:
    • aclnnExp & aclnnInplaceExp default to a deterministic implementation.
