Description

The Auto Flicker Type Detection algorithm is implemented by software and hardware. This algorithm can calculate whether the flicker frequency of the current ambient light source is 50 Hz or 60 Hz. (The current version supports only 50 Hz detection.)

Notice:

  • In some environments, when the 50 Hz light source and 60 Hz light source are switched to each other (for example, in an indoor scenario with 50 Hz lighting, the light is turned off and the 60 Hz TV is turned on), the camera may fail to apply proper anti-flicker parameters. Therefore, the flicker frequency in the ambient light source needs to be calculated so that the camera can adjust the anti-flicker parameters accordingly.
  • It is recommended that the flicker type be calculated based on the image data obtained from the VPSS module. If the content type of the image is changed too much in the front-end modules such as DIS, LDC, and fisheye correction, the calculation accuracy of the flicker type will be affected. In addition, too obvious image noise will also affect the flicker type.
  • The input image data must have the flicker effect. Otherwise, the flicker frequency of the light source cannot be detected.
