Function

  • Description: Completes the backward propagation of aclnnLogSoftmax.

  • Formula:

out=gradOutput−sum(gradOutput)⋅exp(output)out = gradOutput - sum(gradOutput) \cdot exp(output)

Function Prototype

Each operator is divided into a two-phase API. First call the "aclnnLogSoftmaxBackwardGetWorkspaceSize" API to obtain the workspace size required for computation and the executor that contains the operator computation process, and then call the "aclnnLogSoftmaxBackward" API to perform the computation.

aclnnStatus aclnnLogSoftmaxBackwardGetWorkspaceSize(
  const aclTensor *gradOutput,
  const aclTensor *output,
  int64_t          dim,
  aclTensor*       out,
  uint64_t        *workspaceSize,
  aclOpExecutor  **executor)
aclnnStatus aclnnLogSoftmaxBackward(
  void           *workspace,
  uint64_t        workspaceSize,
  aclOpExecutor  *executor,
  aclrtStream     stream)

aclnnLogSoftmaxBackwardGetWorkspaceSize

  • Parameters:

    Parameter Input/Output Description Instruction Data Type Data Format Shape Non-contiguous Tensor
    gradOutput (aclTensor*) Input Gradient value of backward propagation, i.e., the output gradient of the previous layer. Corresponds to gradOutput in the formula. Supports empty tensors. FLOAT16, FLOAT32, BFLOAT16 ND 1-8 √
    dim (int64_t) Input Dimension of the backward propagation function. Value range: [-dim_num, dim_num], where dim_num is the dimension of the gradOutput shape. INT64 - - -
    output (aclTensor*) Input Output value of the aclnnLogSoftmax function. The output in the formula.
    • Supports empty tensors.
    • The shape and data type must be consistent with gradOutput
    FLOAT16, FLOAT32, BFLOAT16 ND 1-8 √
    out (aclTensor*) Output The output of the function is the gradient of the input, that is, the result of differentiating the input.
    • shape must be consistent with gradOutput and output.
    • FLOAT16, FLOAT32, and BFLOAT16 do not require additional workspace, while other data types are supported through the automatic cast capability but require additional workspace.
    FLOAT16, FLOAT32, BFLOAT16 ND 1-8 √
    workspaceSize (uint64_t*) Output Returns the workspace size to be requested on the Device side. - - - - -
    executor (aclOpExecutor**) Output Returns the operator executor, which contains the operator computation flow. - - - - -
    • Atlas inference products, Atlas training products: FLOAT16 and FLOAT32 data types do not require additional workspace, while other data types are supported through automatic cast but require additional workspace.
  • Return value

    aclnnStatus: return status. For details, see aclnn Return Code. The first-phase API performs input parameter validation and reports an error in the following scenarios:

    Return Code Error Code Description
    ACLNN_ERR_PARAM_NULLPTR 161001 The passed gradOutput, output, or out is a null pointer.
    ACLNN_ERR_PARAM_INVALID 161002 The shapes of gradOutput, output, and out are inconsistent.
    The dim value is outside the dimension range of gradOutput
    gradOutput is not a supported data type.
    output is not a supported data type.

aclnnLogSoftmaxBackward

  • Parameters:

    Parameter Input/Output Description
    workspace Input Workspace memory address applied for on the Device side.
    workspaceSize Input Workspace size applied for on the Device side, obtained from the first-phase API aclnnLogSoftmaxBackwardGetWorkspaceSize.
    Executor Input Represents the operator executor that contains the operator computation process.
    Stream Input Specifies the stream for task execution.
  • Return value

    aclnnStatus: return code. For details, see aclnn Return Code.

Constraints

  • Deterministic computation:

    • aclnnLogSoftmaxBackward defaults to a deterministic implementation.
