Function

Description: Returns a random tensor drawn from independent normal distributions with a given mean (float) and standard deviation (tensor).

Function Prototype

  • Each operator is divided into a two-phase API. You must first call the "aclnnNormalFloatTensorGetWorkspaceSize" API to obtain the workspace size required for computation and the executor that contains the operator computation process, and then call the "aclnnNormalFloatTensor" API to execute the computation.
aclnnStatus aclnnNormalFloatTensorGetWorkspaceSize(
  float mean,
  const aclTensor *std,
  int64_t seed,
  int64_t offset,
  aclTensor *out,
  uint64_t *workspaceSize,
  aclOpExecutor **executor)
aclnnStatus aclnnNormalFloatTensor(
  void* workspace,
  uint64_t workspaceSize,
  aclOpExecutor *executor,
  aclrtStream stream)

aclnnNormalFloatTensorGetWorkspaceSize

  • Parameters:
Parameter Input/Output Description Instruction Data Type Data Format Dimension (Shape) Non-contiguous Tensor
mean Input Specifies the mean of the random number distribution. - FLOAT ND - -
std Input Tensor that generates the standard deviation of the random number distribution, an aclTensor on the Device side. - FLOAT16, FLOAT, DOUBLE ND 0-8 -
seed Input Seed value for the pseudorandom number generator used for sampling. - INT64 ND - -
offset Input Offset of the sampling pseudo-random number generator. - INT64 ND - -
out Output Output tensor, which is an aclTensor on the Device side. - FLOAT16, FLOAT, DOUBLE ND 0-8 -
workspaceSize Output Returns the workspace size to be allocated on the Device side. - - - - -
executor Output Returns the op executor, which contains the operator computation flow. - - - - -
  • Return value

aclnnStatus: return code. For details, see aclnn Return Codes.

The first-phase API performs input parameter validation and returns an error in the following scenarios:

    Return Code Error Code Description
ACLNN_ERR_PARAM_NULLPTR 161001 The input std or out is a null pointer.
ACLNN_ERR_PARAM_INVALID 161002 The data type of the input std or out is not within the supported range.
The input std is an empty tensor, or the shape of std is not equal to the shape of out.
The shape of the passed std or out exceeds 8 dimensions.

aclnnNormalFloatTensor

  • Parameters:
Parameter Input/Output Description
workspace Input Address of the workspace memory applied on the Device side.
workspaceSize Input Size of the workspace memory applied on the Device side, obtained by the first-phase API aclnnNormalFloatTensorGetWorkspaceSize.
executor Input Operator executor that contains the operator computation process.
stream Input Specifies the stream for task execution.

Constraints

  • Deterministic computation:

    • aclnnNormalFloatTensor defaults to a deterministic implementation.
