Function

  • Description: During training, randomly sets elements in the input to zero with probability p, and scales the output by a factor of 1/(1-p).

  • Formula:

    outi={0, with probability p11−pinputi, with probability 1−pout_i=\begin{cases}0,&\text { with probability }p \\\frac{1}{1-p}input_i,&\text { with probability }1-p\end{cases}

NOTE aclnnDropoutV2 is under development.

Function Prototype

Each operator is divided into a two-phase API. The "aclnnDropoutV3GetWorkspaceSize" API must be called first to obtain the workspace size required for computation and the executor that encapsulates the operator computation flow. Then, the "aclnnDropoutV3" API is called to perform the computation.

aclnnDropoutV3GetWorkspaceSize

  • Parameters:

Parameter Input/Output Description Instruction Data Type Data Format Dimension (shape) Non-contiguous Tensor
input Input The input input in the formula. The shape supports 0 to 8 dimensions. FLOAT, FLOAT16, BFLOAT16 ND - √
optionalNoiseShape Input Reserved parameter. Use a null pointer as the input argument. - - ND - √
p Input Probability of setting elements to zero. Value range: [0, 1] double - - -
seed Input Seed for random numbers, which affects the generated random number sequence. - int64_t - - -
offset Input Offset of the random number, which affects the position of the generated random number sequence. - int64_t - - -
out Output out in the formula The data type must be convertible from the input data type, and the shape must be consistent with that of the input. FLOAT, FLOAT16, BFLOAT16 ND - √
maskOut Output Mask data of bit type stored in UINT8 format. The number of elements must be (align(number of elements in input, 128) / 8). When p = 0 or p = 1, no processing is performed on the passed maskOut. In other scenarios, a mask is generated with the given p as the zeroing probability. UINT8 ND - √
workspaceSize Output Returns the workspace size to be allocated on the Device side. - - - - -
executor Output Returns the operator executor, which contains the operator computation flow. - - - - -
  • Return value

aclnnStatus: return code. For details, see aclnn Return Codes.

The first-phase API performs input parameter validation and returns an error in the following scenarios:

Return Code Error Code Description
ACLNN_ERR_PARAM_NULLPTR 161001 The input, out, or maskOut is a null pointer.
ACLNN_ERR_PARAM_INVALID 161002 The data types of input, out, and maskOut are not within the supported range.
The value of p is not between 0 and 1.
The input dimension exceeds 8.
The shapes of input and out are inconsistent.
The shape of maskOut does not meet the condition.

  • Parameters:

    Parameter Input/Output Description
workspace Input Workspace memory address requested on the Device side.
workspaceSize Input Workspace size requested on the Device side, obtained from the first-phase API aclnnDropoutV3GetWorkspaceSize.
executor Input Operator executor, which contains the operator computation flow.
stream Input Specifies the stream for task execution.
  • Return value

aclnnStatus: return code. For details, see aclnn Return Codes.

Constraints

  • Deterministic computation:

    • aclnnDropoutV3 defaults to a deterministic implementation.
