Background

With the evolution of AI technologies, industries such as transportation, energy, and security protection are increasingly seeking intelligent transformations. This has led to the operationalization of numerous device-edge-cloud applications. Massive terminal devices generate data in real time. Centralized cloud computing is tasked with managing the bandwidth load, network latency, and data management costs associated with frequent data interactions. Both further highlight the value of edge computing. However, the growing reliance on edge computing has led to an increase in the number of edge computing devices. Consequently, how to manage a large number of edge devices and how to deploy edge computing applications on edge devices in batches have become a major concern for system administrators.

Product Definition

MindEdge Framework is a lightweight framework for device-edge-cloud synergy that can be integrated. As a part of the Ascend inference solution, MindEdge Framework is used to enable intelligent edge devices and manage edge nodes and intelligent inference services (containerized applications). Collaborating with MEF Edge and MEF Center, it can also be used for edge-cloud synergy management. Through secondary development, users can connect it to an independent software vendor's (ISV's) service platform and integrate target functions.

MEF Edge, deployed on intelligent edge devices, is used to connect to the central network management system (NMS), deploy and manage intelligent inference services (containerized applications), and provide services for algorithm applications.
MEF Center, deployed on general-purpose servers, is used to implement batch management, service deployment, and system monitoring for edge nodes.
