Using IEF

IEF allows you to register and manage one or more edge nodes. This section describes how to register and manage a single edge node using IEF. For details about how to register and manage edge nodes in batches and how to use IEF, see the Intelligent EdgeFabric document.

Upgrade the firmware after the IEF management is enabled. Restart the device again after the AtlasEdge is started properly to ensure that the IEF is connected.

Before configuring IEF management, you need to manually copy the driver files to the /usr/local/Ascend/ directory. Otherwise, the inference container delivery will fail. You can use either of the following methods to copy the files:
  • For a single Atlas 500 AI edge station (model 3000), run the cp -r /home/data/miniD/driver /usr/local/Ascend/ command to copy the files.
  • For more than one Atlas 500 AI edge station (model 3000), use SmartKit to copy the files in batches. The procedure is as follows:
    1. Log in to SmartKit, and choose Upgrade/Patch Installation > Batch Distribution.
    2. Click Config Service, and the task configuration page is displayed.
    3. Add the cp -r /home/data/miniD/driver/ /usr/local/Ascend/ command, and click Save.
    4. Click Run Service to deliver services.
  1. Add the device to the IEF platform for management. For details, see the Intelligent EdgeFabric document.
  2. Manage the Atlas 500 AI edge station (model 3000).
    1. Enter https://Atlas IES IP address in the search box of the browser and press Enter to go to the Atlas IES page.
    2. Choose Maintenance > NMS Registration from the main menu.

    3. On the NMS Registration page, set Select NMS Mode to HUAWEI CLOUD IEF.

    4. Import the IEF interconnection certificate. (Skip this step if the alarm reporting function is not required.)

Log in to IEF console. On the left of the menu bar, choose Edge Resources > Edge Nodes. Click the name of the registered edge node, and choose Certificates > Add Certificate on the displayed page. After you type related information, the system automatically downloads the certificate file package to the local PC. Decompress the downloaded file package to obtain the required certificate and certificate private key.

    5. Click Save.
    6. Check whether the Atlas 500 AI edge station (model 3000) is successfully managed by IEF.
      1. Log in to the IEF console.
      2. Choose Dashboard and click Switch Instance to switch to the platinum edition.
      3. Choose Edge Resources > Edge Nodes in the navigation pane. In the edge node list, view the status of the Atlas 500 AI edge station (model 3000). If the node status is Running, the Atlas 500 AI edge station (model 3000) is successfully managed by IEF.
