Updating a Containerized Application

If you want to update the entire container, perform the operations described in this section.

Updating a containerized application will affect the services running on the device. You can update a containerized application only when the management status of the device is Ready.

  1. On the FusionDirector WebUI, choose Menu > Configuration > Configuration Deployment > Containerized Application Deployment.
  2. Select Image Files and upload the target image file. For details, see Creating an Image File.
  3. Skip the step for selecting a resource file.
  4. Select Containerized Applications, and click the name of the containerized application to be updated. The detailed information about the containerized application is displayed.
  5. Select the Version Information tab, and click Add.
  6. Enter the version information and select a template.
    • Version: Enter the new version number.
    • Template Type:
      • Application template: Select Application template if the configuration of the new version is different from that of a historical version.
      • Historical version: Select Historical version if the configuration of a new version is similar to that of a historical version.
    • Application Template: This parameter is available only when Template Type is Application template. Click Select Application Template, select an application template from the application template list, and click OK.
    • Historical Version: This parameter is available only when Template Type is Historical Version. Click Select Historical Version, select a historical version, and click OK.
  7. Configure basic and advanced settings, and click OK. For details, see Creating an Application Template.
  8. On the Containerized Application tab, select the application instance to be updated, and choose Update > Containerized Application Version.
  9. Select the target version of the container, and click OK.
  10. Click OK to start the update.

    The container upgrade task is displayed in the task list in the upper right corner of the page. After the container is successfully upgraded, go to the Containerized Application tab again. The target version is displayed in the Containerized Application Version column of the container list.
