Downloading Software Packages

Before installing the software, obtain the required software packages and digital signature files. For details, see Table 1.

Verifying Software Integrity

To prevent a software package from being maliciously tampered with during transfer or storage, download also the corresponding digital signature file for integrity verification while downloading the software package. Huawei provides PGP (with the file name extension .asc) and CMS (with the file name extension .p7s) digital signature files, which are used for manual verification and automatic verification, respectively.

Manual verification: After the software package is downloaded, verify its PGP digital signature according to OpenPGP Signature Verification Guide to ensure that the software package is not tampered with.

Automatic verification: After the software package is downloaded, it is uploaded together with the NMS or deployment tool, which can verify the software package to ensure that it is not tampered with.

If the verification fails, download the software package and digital signature and verify them again. If the verification fails again, contact Huawei technical support.

Note: Before a software package is used in installation or update, its digital signature also needs to be verified according to the OpenPGP Signature Verification Guide to ensure that the software package is not tampered with.
