Power Consumption Stagnant and AI Core Usage at 0% Within One Minute

Symptom

During the power consumption test, the power consumption does not increase significantly and AI Core Usage is 0% within about 1 minute. See the following figure.

Possible Causes

Following a device reboot or CANN package upgrade, the aclrtSetDevice API is called to initialize the device when the first operator delivery. This triggers sub-package copy that takes about 30s to 90s, which is an expected behavior.

Solution

After the device is restarted or the CANN package is upgraded, the power consumption test triggers sub-package copy. In this case, you can run the npu-smi info command to query the process information. If the process information can be queried, the copy is complete. Then, you can perform the power consumption test again.
