Restrictions

  • The log collection tool can collect Ascend NPU logs and device system-level logs only on a physical machine and the installation user and user are both root. If the tool is executed on a non-physical machine or by a common user, logs cannot be collected.
  • Ascend NPU logs cannot be collected on the Atlas 200 AI accelerator module (RC), Atlas 500 A2 edge station, and Atlas 200I DK A2 developer kit.
  • You are advised to set umask to 077 or higher.
  • If a soft link exists in the path for storing log files, the log collection tool stops running and exits for security purposes.
  • If the log file size is greater than the size of the partition where the log collection package is located (you can run the df -h command to query the partition size), the log collection tool stops running and exits.
  • If a non-root user uses the log collection tool, only the logs that the user has the read permission can be collected.
  • If other users or user groups have the write permission on the directories or files generated during log collection, the log collection tool stops running and exits for security purposes. (It is recommended that the permission on the directories or files of other users or user groups be less than or equal to 755.)
  • The information about the system and service components is collected when the log collection tool is used. For security purposes, do not write sensitive information into related logs.
